New Changes for 2026

I'm excited to get back on the water this summer.  To better fit my day-job schedule and overall goal to build awareness and community in standup paddle boarding in the Shenandoah Valley, I'm making a few changes to my offerings this upcoming 2026 paddle season.

• All SUP Eco-Tours are now private bookings only - Will will not have scheduled public ecotours this year. Anyone interested in taking a SUP trip, lessons, you can just reach out to David directly for availability and booking. 

• Expect a monthly SUP-the-South event May - Sept. 

• Limited SUP rentals - We'll have 2 boards available for rent to test this out this spring. If things go well, we'll add more rentals to the fleet. Past guests who have taken a trip with us get a special "Friends of SUP-Shen" rate, and all others will pay normal price. 

• Learn To SUP rivers on your own Gear! Private bookings and 1-2 clinics offered at different times this summer
  
  One of the main reasons I started SUP-Shen was to hopefully get more people into paddle boarding who live in the Valley. And not just paddlers who go out a couple times a summer while at the lake or on vacation, but something that becomes a beloved hobby and outdoor activity anytime they can (or year round like me!) I plan to offer certain dates to do workshops both beginner then shallow river paddling focused workshops so people have the skills to safely stand up on any of the many local rivers that go in and out of shallow and deep water and through class 1-2 rapids. Learning to paddle this kind of water opens up many options for paddling. This is how you can paddle every week on your SUP, but it does come with a learning curv and I want to help speed up that experience (within reason). 

This is a bit of a unconventional approach but feel it will be the most manageable for me, but also give paddlers the best expereince, skills, and confidence to get out there and SUP on their own.
